HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Caribbean Food Delights (CFD), a privately owned & operated company, is the leading manufacturer of Jamaican Style Patties: beef, chicken and vegetable. This state-of -the-art facility is SQF certified. We are seeking a motivated, trustworthy and ethical HR Manager with a solid HR Generalist background to lead and oversee the overall HR operation of this company and its affiliates. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee the sourcing, recruiting and hiring process, responsible for the onboarding procedures for the company for both union and non-union employees
- Design and implement company policies that promote a healthy work environment.
- Organize learning and development programs
- Maintain and enhance employee benefit programs, including compensation, health insurance, paid time-off benefits
- Support departments in developing and delivering strategic HR plans that fit with the overall business direction
- Build strong relationships with external suppliers, vendor fostering trust and promoting collaboration
- Handle confidential matters with discretion
- Handle discipline, termination of employees in accordance with company policy and union agreement
- Provide support and guidance to HR personnel, management and other staff when complex, specialized and sensitive questions and issues arise
- Investigate and resolve general complaints, sexual harassment, general harassment allegations
- Investigate job-related injuries, prepare relevant documentation for submittance to insurance carrier; follow-up and resolve all workers’ compensation claims issues; prepare all OSHA forms
- Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices, review policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR, talent management and employment laws
- Collaborate with union representatives regarding employee issues; interpret various aspects of the CBA/MOA, to managers and employees; produce monthly remissions report and forward to accounting department for payment to the union
- Collaborate with labor attorney, union representatives and participate in union negotiations
- Partner with accounting department to administer and process the weekly payroll, including paid time-off benefits, garnishments, income execution, union deductions, etc.
- Collaborate with attorney regarding the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP),, produce and forward to attorney relevant data.; follow through on attorney’s recommendations as they relate to the recruitment and hiring of employees and AAP practices; prepare EEO – 1 reports
- Attend management and other meetings.
- Perform any other related duties for Caribbean Food Delights and other related companies as assigned and unilaterally determined by CFD.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in HR management, Business Administration or equivalent
Minimum 5 years related HR Generalist/Management experience; experience in manufacturing a plus
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills
SHRM-CP or SHRM – SCP a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software
Excellent organizational, strong analytical and problem=solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and tasks and delegate when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity and professionalism
Thorough knowledge of federal, state, local employment-related laws and regulations.
Strong leadership and managerial abilities

SALES/ADMIN. ASSISTANT

This state-of -the-art facility is SQF certified. We are looking for/seeking a motivated and reliable, Sales/Admin. Assistant to join our team. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Answer phones clearly and politely on the first or second ring to ascertain reason for call and assist the caller. Page clearly and loudly, when necessary; check general mailbox daily, to review messages and forward messages to appropriate employees.
- Greet visitors and clients pleasantly and courteously, determine their needs and provide prompt, appropriate assistance.
- Work closely with our Director of Sales to ensure that all orders for our major customers are processed timely and accurately.
- Process orders for local customers carefully, following through on order processing from receipt of order, shipping, billing to payment.
- Process in-person product purchase ensuring that the customer receives the correct request and receipt of payment; forward copy of payment receipt and money to Accounts Receivable department, immediately.
- Handle all telephone orders using order form to record information, for order processing
- Ensure quality control over products that are shipped to customers, consistently utilizing the I-button.
- Communicate with the Production department from time to time, to ensure that there is availability of adequate Sales products for on-going customer order fulfillment and disbursement; document items to be produced and forward to the Production Manager for the production of said items; inform the Director of Sales of any discrepancies that cannot be immediately resolved.
- Maintain logistics with trucking companies to ensure that products are disbursed as per schedule and on time, resolve problems quickly and immediately; research and secure services of new trucking companies, when necessary.
- File all processed orders with the bill of lading and original order forms, in proper place.
- Check for Purchase Orders from the EDI computer system, as required; invoice customers accordingly using the EDI system.
- Assist with the monitoring of bioterrorism and food security; maintain visitor’s log data, surveillance and general security, on a regular basis.
- Handle all sample requests for the Sales/Promotion department and inform Director of Sales of any important issues that need to be addressed.
- Prepare promotional items for shows, events, contests, etc. and forward them to appropriate employees; prepare and send promotional items to customers, upon request.
- Perform any other related duties.
Minimum 2 years related work experience, with sales background; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and data entry software. Pay range: $22.00 - $24.00 p/h + benefits.
