- Improve waste management and environmental factors, continuously; reduce the cost of rejected products.
- Create a people plan that will improve the working conditions for all staff and create depth and caliber that are appropriate for future needs; implement a Safety Committee and lead with monthly/quarterly reporting metrics.

- Attend management and other meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or equivalent
Minimum 5-7 years related experience; experience in food manufacturing a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Sage & PRIMS or equivalent
Knowledge of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOP, Pest Control Programs, USDA & FDA regulations, a plus
Strong leadership and managerial abilities
Strong math, analytical and data entry skills

FOOD TECHNOLOGIST

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the R&D/QC Director/QC Manager, set standards for producing, packaging and marketing foods. Also responsible for performing prescribed quality control tests, maintain corresponding records and create associated certification and/or control charts for raw materials, products and related quality processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforce HACCP, GMPs and Food Safety & Security plans/procedures; update and maintain to ensure compliance with federal, state regulations and other regulatory agencies, at all times.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products manufactured by the plant as well as raw materials, packaging materials and operations required in the manufacturing process including quality specifications and standards.
- Develop food standards, safety and sanitary regulations and waste management and water supply specifications.
- Perform routine facility walkthroughs and communicate findings/problems to the Quality Control Manager and follow-up to ensure that corrective action is taken or will be taken.
- Perform pre-operational, operational and post operation checks, daily.
- Write quality control/assurance programs; maintain and file all records and reports on a daily basis.
- Review daily prerequisite food safety and quality control records; follow and improve quality control SOPs and perquisite programs.
- Oversee all aspects of sanitation as per the Master Sanitation Schedule and ensure that tasks are completed, effectively.
- Check raw ingredients for maturity or stability for processing and finished products for safety, quality and nutritional value.
- Supervise and participate in all phases of production, i.e., pre-operation, make-up, packaging and wash down, as necessary.
- Inspect incoming goods and advise supervisors of off specification goods; alert regulatory agency of any safety hazards, when necessary.
- Check product formulations (recipes); monitor conditions at critical control points; audit quality data records; adjust recipes within modification parameters; stop productions when process is out of control.
- Ensure that the calibration of all testing instruments are accurate and meet company standards.
- Analyze product quality including sensory evaluation to determine if product meets quality standards and ensure that quality standards are being met.
- Ascertain that only authorized materials are in the processing areas and that deleterious substances are properly segregated.
- Conduct sanitation inspections in production plant; spot check employee practices; monitor pest and rodent control programs, regularly.
- Approve lots and quarantine off-standard lots, as is necessary.
- Perform verification on all HACCP records, prerequisite records, and other records relating to food safety quality control.
- Ensure product compliance with regulatory agencies and ensure that the company is adhering to quality standards; guide production staff on quality standards.
- Monitor warehousing operations; investigate quality complaints; participate in recall plan; conduct sanitation inspections and spot checks; monitor pest and rodent control programs, regularly.
- Handle ATP and allergen control testing, as required.
- Review labels and raw materials, routinely.
- Take samples of products being produced, analyze and record results; conduct collaborative analyses; conduct trouble shooting investigations; inform management of relevant quality information; report unusual product quality deficiencies; suggest corrective measures and follow-through.

HR GENERALIST (SPANISH BI-LINGUAL)
Frozen food manufacturer located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks immediately an HR Generalist with a minimum three (3) years similar work experience to provide support to the HR department by interpreting policies, procedures and processes. In addition, the HR Generalist will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting and employment, safety, and training. Conducts/Assist with On-Boarding and Spanish/English translation. Maintains various monthly/quarterly reports to support the business objectives designed to minimize legal exposure, enhance productivity, performance management, and achieve maximum retention of human capital.

PRODUCTION LINE CHECKER

Reports to: Production & Quality Control Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Quality Control Manager and the Production Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring that the items that are produced on a daily basis, adhere to an established quality standard.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check lot code, packaging, label for each line prior to the start of production. Report any necessary corrections to QC and Production Manager prior to the start of packaging; when line starts, verify again, code printed in inner and outer cartons notify Production & QC Manager (or their representatives) if outer code is incorrect.
- Check products – raw and baked net weight, every hour, record and inform supervisor if they are off specification.
- Check product filling weight every hour, record and inform QC/Production Line Operator of any discrepancies.
- Check Fat percentage at least 3 times per day, record and if not in acceptable range, inform machine operator.
- Check dough temperature from mixer and shortening temperatures per batch, record and inform supervisor of any discrepancies.
- Check finished product packaged weight, box seal, paper seal and coding every hour, record and inform QC.
- Inspect finished product quality for appearance, record and inform operator if product needs to be adjusted.
- Monitor CCP for Kettle chilling and baking as per batch, record and report any discrepancies to QC.
- Monitor CCP for Spiral/Tunnel Oven baking and Spiral chilling hourly and report any unusual activity to QC.
- Report to QC if product is out of specs or any deviation in HACCP CCP.
- Check cleanliness of equipment, along with production staff, at the end of the day; take corrective action.
- Check sanitizer concentration at the end of the day, record and report if out of specification.
- Check flour tailings at end of day, record and report anything that is out of specification.
- Check knife reconciliation at the end of the day, record and report any missing or damaged knives.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC – FIRST SHIFT
High speed frozen food manufacturing plant located in Tappan, Rockland County, NY, seeks a hands-on mechanic with 3+ years related work experience for the first shift, to assist in the upkeep of the plant’s equipment in accordance with best practices, diagrams, manuals and manufacturer specifications and ensure that machines and equipment are operating in a safe and effective manner at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Follow and adhere to GMP, confined space, LOTO and all safety rules set forth by the company.
- Comply with OSHA/USDA/HACCP Safety and Health rules, at all times.
- Dismantle devices to gain access and remove defective parts using hand tools, power tools, hoists, ladders and lifts.
- Observe equipment’s operations trouble shoot and diagnose problems.
- Check boilers and HVAC systems to ensure that they are working correctly each morning, evening and periodically throughout the day
- Troubleshoot PLC systems, replace VFDs, terminate electrical connections and control wiring.
- Check to ensure that air compressors and refrigeration systems for production are on and working properly before production start-up time each day.
- Perform change overs on dough sheeting lines, according to specifications during daily startup.
- Check lighting system throughout the plant, weekly; replace bulbs where necessary.
- Check equipment components for repair or replacement; clean, lubricate equipment, regularly.
- Organize and maintain inventory of all components needed for the maintenance of equipment.
- Examine all machines and equipment to ensure that they are consistently, operating within specifications.
- Evaluate equipment and machinery performance and recommend improvements to the Engineer or the President.
- Set up equipment and conveyors by adjusting to product specification; test set up.
- Maintain packaging quality by inspecting in-process and finished production; verify specification, identify any problems and make necessary adjustments.
- Clean and lubricate equipment on a regular basis and align equipment parts, if necessary.
- Check for machine performance and keep records of repairs and maintenance and refer to these records during inspection and repairs.

We are looking for a hands-on Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse/Inventory Assistant Manager with 3-5 years of related work experience, to assist in overseeing the Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse and Freezer Inventory control activities, including cycle count; will be also responsible for the accurate receipt of incoming orders and the accurate disbursement of orders as per purchase order agreement. Lead, train and supervise employees in the department.
Prepare & load merchandise on to trucks.
Receive, inspect and accept inbound freight orders, store orders.
Record lot numbers for outgoing shipments and track shipments
Supply the production department with raw materials
Wrap and remove finished products from production floor and store in freezer
Conduct freezer and warehouse inventory
2 - 4 years similar experience using forklift
